Figures in a Landscape

Everyday life can be surreal at times, can't it? I did not post as many

pics as usual yesterday because I was out most of the day. We found
ourselves having lunch in a small pub in an idyllic English village well
off the beaten track. As we were standing at the bar looking at the food
menu, a sudden noise of rowdy incoming customers erupts behind us and a
loud demand for "14 whiskies please". I turned to find a group of 18
year-olds in fancy dress. The one next to me, a blond Viking of about
6ft 3" (almost 2 metres), was in a vest and tiny form-hugging lycra
shorts. The prettiest of the group, a dark haired lad, was seated behind
me in a short sleeveless dress and bare legs. We retreated to the pub
garden and decided they had to be boys from an expensive private school
enjoying a 'pub crawl' on their last day at school, an emotional
occasion before they parted their various ways, off to different
universities or 'gap year' adventures around the world.
